Comprehensive Exams
Our exams include diagnostic x-rays (radiographs), oral cancer screening, gum disease evaluation (gingivitis/periodontal disease), examination of tooth decay, evaluation of existing restorations, and a comprehensive treatment plan. We also provide limited exams on short notice as part of our emergency care to treat our patients in a timely fashion.
Digital X-Rays and Imaging
We offer state of the art digital x-rays that allow for easier, instant image capture. Compared to the already low level of radiation exposure with traditional x-rays, digital x-rays reduce an additional 90 percent. Used in diagnosing tooth decay, bone loss, abscesses, poor tooth and root position, cancerous/non-cancerous tumors, problems inside teeth. Digital Intra Oral cameras also allow for easy patient viewing of tooth decay and tooth fractures in high definition color.
Composite Fillings
Tooth colored white fillings used to repair decay, cracks, fractures in teeth. Composite fillings are very durable and will last many years. They can also be used to improve appearance of discolored teeth, close spaces between teeth, and protect worn teeth.
Nitrous Sedation
Nitrous oxide sedation, or laughing gas, is a safe and effective sedative to help you relax during treatment and make your experience more comfortable.
Porcelain Crowns
Tooth colored white crowns, often made of porcelain or zirconia, encase the entire tooth restoring original shape and size. Crowns protect and strengthen tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings. They are also used to fix fractured teeth, decayed teeth, fractured fillings, teeth with large fillings, and to protect teeth that have been treated with a root canal. Crowns involve two appointments, the first to prepare the tooth and have an impression and temporary crown made; and the second to cement and adjust the final completed crown once it comes back from the lab.
Extractions
Teeth requiring extraction often have extensive decay rendering the tooth past the point of saving. Extractions are classified into two categories, simple and surgical. This is usually determined during the exam phase, however it can change during treatment due to complexities involved with the root shape or form, amount of remaining tooth, and proximity to other structures in the face/sinuses/mandible.
Dental Hygiene and Cleaning
Cleaning involves the removal of calculus (tartar) which is hardened plaque left on the tooth surface for an extended period of time. Calculus forms above and below the gum line. Plaque is also removed, the sticky invisible film that forms on teeth after every meal. Plaque removal is essential to prevent bacteria and food debris from leading to tooth decay and periodontal disease. Professional polishing also helps to remove staining from everyday foods.
Root Canal Therapy
Root canal treatment is required when the nerve of a tooth is affected by decay or infection. During this procedure, the pulp/nerve, bacteria, and any decay are removed from the tooth and the space is filled with special medicated materials to restore the tooth to full function. This procedure is performed on teeth experiencing severe hot/cold pain, toothache pain, abscessed teeth, and teeth fractured due to trauma. Majority of root canal treatments can be completed in one office visit, cases with extensive infection and swelling may require a second appointment to confirm proper healing.
Night Guards and Sports Mouth Guards

Night guards and harmful habit appliances are fabricated to combat bruxism (clenching and grinding of teeth). They can be fabricated in soft or hard plastic and are custom fit to the shape of each patients teeth.
Fairview Family Dentistry is also a certified carrier of Under Armor mouth guards. UA sport mouth guards can be fabricated in a variety of colors and styles, and can be used in many different sport and physical activities. Ask our staff about how these guards can help protect your teeth and improve athletic performance!
Invisible Braces / ClearCorrect
Invisible braces, also known as clear aligner treatment, are a great way to improve the appearance of any smile. Clear aligners can move rotated and tilted teeth, close spaces and gaps, and restore proper function and alignment. They are a great alternative to traditional metal bracket braces.
Partial Dentures
Removable dental appliances remedy spaces left by missing and/or extracted teeth. Partial dentures attach to remaining teeth and can be made from flexible acrylic that is color matched to existing tooth and gingiva color. The result is a comfortable, esthetic, and well fitting option.
Tooth Whitening
This is a simple non invasive treatment for changing the color of tooth enamel. The most popular method is a home based whitening system with custom designed trays. The trays hold the whitening gel in a position that is safe and prevents soft tissue damage to the gums. Whitening is not permanent and usually requires touch up every several years, more frequently for smokers and coffee/wine/tea drinkers. It can also be used to whiten genetically discolored teeth, improve appearance of fluorosis from childhood and teeth stained from medications.
